Find a Family Doctor or Nurse Practitioner
What this is
A family doctor or nurse practitioner is your first stop for most health needs — check-ups, prescriptions, and referrals to specialists. This page helps you find one in Scarborough.
Who it is for
Anyone in Scarborough or nearby who does not have a regular primary care provider. Most options need an Ontario health card (OHIP). No health card? Community Health Centres will still see you.
How to access it
- Register with Health Care Connect, Ontario’s matching service — call 1-800-445-1822 (free) or register online.
- Call Health811 — dial 811 any time, day or night, for advice in many languages.
- If you do not have OHIP, find a Community Health Centre near you.
What happens next
A nurse contacts you and searches for a provider accepting new patients near you. Keep your phone number up to date.
